The Zone is a two-strap Velcro shoe that combines the award-winning comfort and breathability of our Momentum climbing shoes, with the high-performance last of our Shadows to create a shoe built for sending at the gym or the crag. The Zone’s upper consist of our Engineered Knit Technology, which provides stretch where you need it, support where it matters and all around exceptional breathability-meaning you can go hard at the gym without worrying about your feet overheating. The shoe’s last is downturned and based on our aggressive shape, making the Zone adept at pulling hard on steep rock or plastic. The Zone’s sticky Fuze rubber is molded - inspired by the way we forge our carabiners - and not cut from one sheet of rubber. This is our engineered solution to optimize our shoe’s rubber and rands for consistency and comfort. The shoe’s vamp area also has printed rubber for extra friction while toe-hooking, and the medium-flex midsole adds a balance of sensitivity and power. For hard training sessions, this is the Zone you want to be in.
  • Engineered Knit Technology upper provides exceptional breathability and comfort
  • 4.3mm Fuse rubber is printed and molded for superior grip, optimal consistency, and performance
  • Downturned last for steep pulling
  • Minimalist midsole for extra sensitivity on steep terrain
  • Two Velcro straps for fit adjustability - one designed extra wide for locking in an aggressive fit.
  • Regular last for regular to higher - volume feet.

Zone Climbing Shoes is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best brand out there! I started with the Momentums and honestly I still love those shoes but as I have progressed I needed some more aggressive shoes and so I moved up to the Zones. I love that they are the middle ground between beginner and aggressive. Still have some flex but much more restrictive the the Momentums. If your looking for that next step this is definatly the way to go. 5 out of 5, A+ Rating. Black Diomond all day long.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Shoe, but the Rubber kinda sucks I’ve been using the shoe for about 5 months now and it’s hitting the end of its lifespan. The shoe was amazing when I first got it however I was only working on v2’s and v3’s. Now when I’m trying harder problems around v7-v8 my feet slip off a ton. The rubber is just not sticky enough for a lot of holds. The aggressiveness of the shoe is nice, it’s fairly comfortable, and I’d recommend it for anyone starting. However if you’ve been bouldering for a while and need a more advanced shoe then I’d pick a different one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good first time intermediate shoe Had to exchange the first pair due to sizing. I wear street shoe 9.5 US and had to size up to 10.5 and they fit pretty well. I have a normal size foot and it seems these are a bit higher volume as I have a bit of extra material but not enough to really affect performance. Just be aware if you have smaller foot and consider the Zone LV. Did a short bouldering sesh today and thought the rubber was excellent. Did a couple of problems with some hooks and they heel hook rather well and toe hooks are OK but that is to be expected with this design. Pretty good all around shoe honestly, just wouldn't recommend for any slab projects. I would characterize it as a solid first intermediate shoe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome shoes I bought this shoe today and it feels amazing. It does take some getting used to if you’ve never had a downturned shoe. Also I wear a street shoe 8.5 us and I went up to a 10.5 us and they fit like a glove

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for me They fit my feet perfectly. They seems to be durable (I have been using them for only 2 months)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun shoe for the project! Stayed on edges and smears all day long. They took a bit to break in. But now they are my go to shoe indoors or on steep sport climbs

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I am being troubled with something I only had one session with them so this is more of a question. When you step with your foot the mid sole has to stretch right? this is natural. I find Zone's mid sole quite difficult to stretch, this forces pressure on the heel and the heel naturally forces the foot forward. This forces the fingers to squeeze inside the shoe which is uncomfortable (but not painful at all) and forces big toe and index to apply pressure against the toe box which can be quite painful. So my question is this. Is this normal due to me not being used to them and shoes not yet broken in or is there an actual issue? (I want to note that this is my very first pair of downturn shoes)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Run small Size up to at least street shoe sizing, or maybe even 1/2 up form there.
