Rated 5 de 5 de par Regret not purchasing sooner Every single jacket I have purchased so far the size has been perfect. The fitment is perfect for a midlayer jacket just enough room for a base layer comfortable fit and just thin enough for a rain coat over the top. 35°, 30mph winds I was comfortable and surprisingly warmer in this than my Patagonia down jacket. The transition of materials sheds excess heat perfectly when moving with a pack on or plate carrier. I regret not purchasing this sooner and look forward to the years of use.

Rated 4 de 5 de par A few missing features from the Deployment Hybrid Short review: Pros: Versatile, light weight, durable, well fitting. Cons: Flimsy weather strip, not as bomber as its predecessor, the Deployment Hybrid. Recommend: Yes, without reservation. Full review: I've had this jacket now for nearly two years, so that in itself is a statement to its durability. Essentially, all of the highly rated reviews have this thing dialed in - it is a pretty stellar jacket. I purchased this as a replacement for my older Deployment Hybrid Hoodie, as this seemed to be its spiritual successor. As a successor, I assumed it would have improved in all areas. It has not. There are a two things that prevented me from giving it a 5-star review. 1) There is a small strip of fabric that runs along the inside of the zipper in both jackets - I believe this is to both prevent zipper snags, and enhance wind proofing. On the deployment, it is about an inch wide, and fairly sturdy - it doesn't fold over itself and functions perfectly 100% of the time. For some reason, when they changed to the first light hybrid, they reduced the size and changed the material to something less rigid. Unfortunately, this change means that I now get my zipper snagged every once in while, and have found that the material is looking more worn than my deployment (despite being a year newer, and receiving less frequent use) hybrid. This is a small detail, but why ruin something that was already so dialed in? 2) Much of the material used in the construction of the jackets is similar, if not the exact same, but they did change the internal lining of the insulated parts of the jacket. When I first received my First Light, I thought this was a clear upgrade - the material looks super premium. After extended use, however, I've found that the newer material has not held its shape as well, and has begun pilling! Not the sort of thing that will cause the jacket to fall apart any time soon, but I'm amazed at how much better the Deployment has held up. While the deployment still fits true to size three years on, the First Light is struggling to keep its shape, becoming more and more box like by the week. I think this is primarily an aesthetic issue, but I still find myself annoyed that the older jacket seems to be doing better! Okay, so a quick blurb about the good of this jacket: I use it for everything. Perfect mid layer for skiing in the winter. Keeps you warm, but breathes extremely well. Awesome for cold winter runs - I've used this and a shell when its about -20C and found it to be pretty much perfect. Excellent for early morning scrambles, and shoulder season hikes. I actually bring this on almost all hikes I do these days - its great for the cool evenings and mornings, and is excellent for a summit lunch on a day hike. I've used this climbing a bit - provides great range of motion, and doesn't feel terrible under a harness. Small things I love: The elastic cuffs and waist: Super nice when climbing and skiing. Quick dry material: Okay, so all of the materials in this thing are premium, this piece rocks. Pockets: The pockets on the Deployment were limited to just two chest pockets, which is great when you have a harness on, but not great everywhere else. The First Light improves on this, while allowing the jacket to still be reasonably comfortable under harness. Warmth to weight: This thing is literally perfect for active out door pursuits - cant stress enough how well balanced the warmth is. Style: Lets face it - this thing looks awesome. So yeah, this is two features away from being a perfect 5/5. Great jacket, and I would highly recommends.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Great Mid Layer I really enjoy this product. I wear it as a mid layer and as a lightweight jacket when its not too cold. I had the previous years first light hoody and find the hybrid to be just a bit more versatile.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Favorite jacket This jacket is amazing. Great fit and size. material is A1 (strechy, warm, breathable), this jacket is perfect for spring or for winter running (I often use it for my runs in the winter anything above -15 celcius is fine). Used for around 8 months multiple times a week, no outside damage or stretch. Favorite layer of them all

Rated 5 de 5 de par Wool never felt so good Super warm, the wool makes it more breathable and I feel like it does, it drys fairly fast. Definitely a great piece for summer or winter activities

Rated 5 de 5 de par New favorite jacket Warm, breathable, and stylish. I bought this hoody particularly for snowshoeing and it works great for that. It is so comfortable that it has become my favorite winter jacket for cold weather. I wear it all the time. Thus far it has been very durable.
