Boundary Line Insulated Jacket - Men's est évalué 4.3 de 5 de 9.
Rated 5 de 5 de par Awesome jacket Comfortable, warm, great fitting, waterproof. Couldn't ask for more.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Great jacket, all features as expected. If you do your research, you'll see that this jacket is not fully insulated. It's exactly as I expected for resort skiing, although a little less insulated than I'd hoped for. I found that I needed to layer quite a bit to get the needed warmth for sub-zero days on the mountain. The fit is perfect, I'm 5'8 and a small is perfect. I do wish this had bigger zipper pulls, and the resort pass holder on the sleeve does not function as expected - you essentially need to take the jacket off in order to zip it back up. Beyond these small issues, very high quality jacket. I do like the fit of the hood over my helmet, the first jacket I've found to nail this perfectly!

Rated 4 de 5 de par BoundaryLine Insulated Jacket I purchased this jacket mainly for skiing on the east coast. After a week of use, my favorite parts of this jacket is that it is super lightweight. Seriously, this thing is significantly lighter than any jacket I've skied with before. However, with its weight, it begins to sacrifice warmth that you will get from heavier 3-in-1 jackets on the market, but I am plenty warm with a flannel shirt on warm days or a down jacket underneath when it gets colder. My only criticism of this jacket is that the forearms have very little insulation, so most of my body will be comfortable, but part of my arms will be strangely cold.

Rated 4 de 5 de par I want to rate it 5 stars - I really do! Received this lovely jacket earlier this month and have used it daily since. I've wanted one for literally years (since seeing one in MEC a decade or more ago that was too spendy for my student budget) and finally bit the bullet and splurged on it as my own early Christmas gift this year, and very glad I did. - First off, this jacket simply reeks of quality and design thoughtfulness. The zipper tabs hang free of the material and are easy to grab and open even with heavy gloves on. The ability to tighten the waist and sleeve openings is great - even the fact that the Velcro sleeve tabs are perfectly positioned so that you can grip the same-hand sleeve end with one finger in just the right spot to use the opposing hand to pull and lock the Velcro strip - fabulous. Little details like that are what make the difference between a good jacket and a great one. Two separate complimentary waist-tightening options (a wide fabric pull w/snaps, and a drawstring) are much appreciated if you absolutely despise a cold wind blowing up your back, which is my personal pet peeve. - Rain and wind resistance are superb - I wore it in blinding rain and howling wind a few days ago on the West Coast and was snug as a bug. The waterproof main zipper works great and actually IS fully waterproof - another mark of quality. The oversize hood is fabulous, reaching just the tip of your nose (and is also great for light-blocking while snoozing on a ferry). Slight drawback on the size of the hood is that it feels like it is constantly 'pulling' the neck of the jacket backward so I'm always readjusting and pulling the collar forward. Would I trade it for a smaller hood though? No - definitely not, so please don't take that as a gripe. - Pockets - the front outer chest pocket is roomy and easy to access and very handy - the side pockets are spacious as well, and the luxurious soft-and-warm feel of the pocket inner material is great for cold hands. - Sizing - I was very concerned about sizing as I'm 6 foot 4 but not bulky (at 200 pounds) and I vacillated between ordering L and XL. I'm not a big fan of website sizing charts, always seems to be by guess and by golly when it comes to actual fit. As anyone tall is aware, it's hard to find anything long enough in the body; usually if it's wide enough on the shoulders it's too short at the waist, because clothing designers seem to think that tall is synonymous with a 46-inch waist - so if you get XL (that's then long enough) you've just bought an upper-body tent to wallow in. Size large in this jacket turned out to be the right choice though, definitely plenty long enough in the waist and arms and roomy for layering (more on that below). My linebacker-proportioned son, however (at 6 foot 6 and 320 pounds) tried it on and found large to be tight on the shoulders and *just* adequate for length, so XL would be better for him. So I guess the cutoff between L and XL is, in real world terms, somewhere around 6' 5" and 250 pounds-ish. - Cleaning - not that I've had it long enough to have gotten it super filthy (yet), but of course on day 2 of ownership I poured soy sauce all down the front of it, just as a vengeful God wills it to be with new clothing. It cleaned up back to like new the next day with just a good scrub with water, so very pleased about that. - Weight vs. warmth: This jacket is without a doubt crazy lightweight - and if you require light weight over warmth, then for sure this would be a 5-star review. Perhaps I'm asking a little much of a jacket which comes from a company which seems to specialize in 'shells' (no negativity meant - I didn't even know what a 'shell' was till I researched it), but at the thirty to forty below zero of the Canadian North you've gotta layer the heck out of this jacket to make it workable. I feel like it wouldn't have killed them to throw an extra pound or ten of insulation into it, because what is there is great - it just needs more! I use it with an insulated undershirt, two heavy overshirts, a good heavy-weight hoodie and a quality sheepskin vest and that does the trick. I know little of the commercial demand (or terminology) for outdoor gear, however, so perhaps this jacket is aimed more for a target demographic I'm not part of, such as warmish-weather (ie: minus 10-ish) users, lightweight hiking or skiers or rock-climbers or such. Anyway, all-in-all a fabulous great-looking, well-built and versatile jacket with just a few drawbacks that are likely because of me using it outside of the 'normal' parameters it's meant for - I also get nothing but compliments on the look of it, it's one attractive little unit. Thank you for reading and hope you're as happy as I am when you get one of these!

Rated 3 de 5 de par Bring back the BD ZONE insulated shell! 3 stars because no insulation in the arms or fabric over pit zippers. Black Diamond jackets fit like they’re tailored for me. 6’4” 235lbs. XL. Good jacket for the price. BD dry seems to work well but collar doesn’t stand up as well as Zone. Prefer the Gore Tex on the Zone Jacket, stands up better to Canadian Rockies conditions. *and the arms are insulated on the Zone. BRING BACK THE ZONE JACKET! I’d buy one in an instant.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Comes as advertised! I was looking for a warmer ski jacket for winter here in the Canadian Rockies, something more than my usual Goretex shell. Was pleasantly surprised to find that BD had a purpose built ski jacket that met my criteria: fully featured, waterproof, and insulated. I'm 5'9 and 165 lbs and found I was right between the small and medium sizes. Bought the medium first as I was planning to layer with my medium Access Hoodie, but found the BoundaryLine was too long in the torso and arms for me. Returned it and bought the small which is a better fit for length, and still accommodates a light insulation layer underneath for extra warmth. The insulation is light and doesn't appear to be in all areas of the jacket (absent under the arms, forearms, armpits, and below the powder skirt) so in a way it is not unlike the BoundaryLine Mapped, but it does have better coverage overall and the areas where it is omitted makes sense. I wouldn't rock this in cold weather skiing without insulating layers underneath, but it certainly has the warmth advantage over a ski shell, and is WAY more featured than your average winter puffy jacket! It has loads of big pockets, a large hood, and a stretchy and soft feeling outer fabric that feels comfortable and accommodating unlike a stiff Goretex shell - thought I have noticed the softness of the outer fabric is susceptible to sharp objects such as ski edges when boot packing or abrasive velcro straps. Overall this is a very well thought out jacket that has a nice tailored feel, heaps of features, good cold weather performance, and looks great. It's a great ski jacket for the price!

Rated 5 de 5 de par rugged, roomy, and warm Bought for bitter cold ski days to wear over insulating layers (instead of my 3 layer shell). No skiing yet but was super warm during lunch break when hiking recently in the NH Presidential Range, despite single digit wind chill. As others have noted the size is 'roomy' for some layers underneath. I am 5'9", 157lbs, and Medium is plenty loose and plenty long. Now let is snow, let is blow, let it snow!
