BD APPROACH SHOES

Whether you’re on a smash-and-grab ascent of the Grand Teton, scrambling 5.5 moves on a Flatiron before work, or stepping from the gym to the bar, BD’s new footwear lineup consists of technical performance and performance lifestyle models that offer technical precision, unparalleled comfort and innovative style.

THE SESSION

Engineered to send in style, the Black Diamond Session combines ultimate comfort with performance features that seamlessly transitions from the gym to the crag and then out to the city streets. You’ll first notice how the shoe slips on thanks to the stretch-fit heel for easy on/off transitions. That heel also folds down with ease for slip on functionality. Then the integrated bootie wraps your foot like a sock, while the breathable knit upper regulates the temperature and stretches where you need while on the move. The tuned EVA midsole keeps you cushioned and stable, while the Black Diamond BlackLabel-Street sticky rubber adds grip for approaches or commutes. Finally, webbing loops provide tagging or stowing options for trails that end at the cliff.

THE CIRCUIT

Engineered for ultimate comfort, the Circuit is stylistically sharp, super sticky, and ultra-durable, making for a performance lifestyle shoe that’s equally at home at the gym, crag, or bar. Featuring a breathable knit upper for temperature control and a low-rise, collapsible heal that can easily flip down for a slip-on feel, the Circuit can also handle approaches thanks to its BlackLabel-Street sticky rubber outsole. Rubber toe protection adds security, and the webbing loops allow for various tagging and stowing options for when the trail ends and the climbing begins.

THE TECHNICIAN

Engineered for precision, the Black Diamond Technician is ultralight, super sticky, and durable, making it the clutch scrambling approach shoe. Featuring our signature EnduroKnit breathable upper, the Technician has superior temperature control, while remaining ultra-durable for abuse on the rocks. The lightweight half-bootie tongue allows for easy on and off at the crag, and a TPU midfoot strap and lace lock adds security while the graduated lace system goes all the way to the toe for a lockdown fit. The Technician’s tuned EVA midsole consists of a strategic stiffness-to-comfort ratio, allowing for high-performance precision where you need it, and comfort in just the right spots. The last is ideal for technical climbing, as the name implies, and the shoe’s BlackLabel-Mountain rubber provides super sticky, ultimate grip on terrain that demands precise edging and smearing you can trust your life to. Finally, the Technician’s multiple webbing loops offer various tagging and stowing options for when the approach ends and the hard climbing begins.

THE MISSION LT

Engineered for speed approaches, the Black Diamond Mission LT is the approach shoe you want for mountain adventures that push the barriers in both scale and technical terrain. Designed with a sock-like, bootie fit, that’s reinforced with a webbing cinch system, the Mission LT is lightweight and slips on to provide security and comfort that lasts all day. The Mission LT features our signature EnduroKnit, which is a one-piece, ultra-breathable upper for lasting temperature regulation that’s hyper-durable for season after season of abuse. A tuned EVA midsole provides ample stiffness for technical precision, while remaining comfortable and the nylon rock plate provides protection. The Mission LT’s high-performance BlackLabel-Mountain rubber is super sticky, allowing you to grip through technical moves on 5th class terrain with ease, and the rubber toe protection gives the Mission LT added security. Multiple webbing loops give you plenty of tagging and stowing options when the approach ends and the hard climbing begins.
