Rated 5 von 5 von None aus It works great for what it’s built for I use this for in and fun style backpack hunting and this is ideal for that. Super light weight and minimalist design, while being easy and fast to setup. The small footprint allows setup in tight timber or steep terrain. This tent does great at what it is designed for which is being ultralight and fast. The other reviews talking about it having poor ventilation or lacking headroom and so on is a bit ridiculous. This tent weighs 1.5 lbs and sets up in one minute that is where it shines. If you want a tent with great ventilation and lots of head room then it’s going to have to be more bulky, weigh more, and take longer to setup. Everything is give and take and sometimes you can’t have it all. You don’t get mad at your toaster for not being able to bake a pizza? This tent does it’s intended job fantastic and that’s that.
Rated 3 von 5 von Pete aus Small and Light, but not ideal It is absolutely small and light. If you currently carry a bivy and want a little more space, this is definitely a step up. It is a joy to carry, super fast to set up, but hard to keep everything dry. With the door vent half way open I still had condensation dripping on me in the middle of the night. At 5'10', the hood and feet of my sleeping bag touched the ends of the tent (and were soaked by condensation). Unlike other BD single wall tents I have used, I just couldn't get this one to ventilate appropriately (so as to avoid condensation). I only used this tent for 7 nights, so it wasn't a long term test, but it was enough for me to experience it's limitations. My trip temps ranged between 35 - 70 degrees. Luckily, if your days are sunny and warm, everything dries out quickly. If I was 5'6" it probably would be as much of an issue, but the heavy condensation definitely got old quickly. It may perform better in other conditions, but I swapped it out for another tent as soon as I had the chance.
Rated 2 von 5 von Jay V aus Not enough Ventilation I’ve spent 7 nights in this tent so far. Even on the driest of nights with the door window open, you will wake up with condensation. One night it rained most the night through, so had to keep the flap zipped up, and woke up with condensation dripping from the inside. Also, at 5’10”, my forehead and feet are always against the tent walls, further worsening the condensation issue in that your sleeping bag is now getting wet and you need to take time to dry things out the next day. That being said, it does weigh next to nothing, packs to same size as an inflatable sleeping pad, and the poles are great.
Rated 1 von 5 von JacMT aus Don't breath First off I really like the hiking poles. Light and easy to stow and assemble. However this tent is for a place where moisture is absent, and a synthetic sleeping bag is a must. So if you don't breath while you sleep it could work for you. Each morning of a week long trip I awoke to it raining on the inside of this tent. I am 5'7" and couldn't find a way to avoid my feet and head touching the fabric and had to attempt to dry my gear each day. Yes it packs small, and seems like a great design, but there is no way two people could sleep in this and not be soaked. Also, the fabric is already wearing through in many locations after one trip.
Rated 5 von 5 von Murray aus Field Test - Great Tent I finally had a chance to test the tent in very trying weather over a three day period. It rained for long periods from 5 pm on Saturday May 18 to 7 am May 20th with temperatures around 8C ( 46F ). The rain ranged from light to complete downpour. Waterproofness: The tent showed no signs of leakage at any of the seems nor through the floor even though others in the group had significant water penetration. Stability: The tent pitched as easily in the field as in my backyard and stood up very well in the quite windy conditions. I pitched the tent in the suggested orientation to the wind and it proved very stable. Inside space: I had lots of room inside the tent for a 66" Neoair, pack, boots and gear. I really appreciated how easy it was to get in and out without a fly to deal with. Condensation: I had no issues with condensation. Due to the wind and rain I had to keep the door mesh covered which I am sure will help greatly to keep condensation at bay. Overall: A very well constructed, easily pitched home away from home. Loved it.
Rated 5 von 5 von Billy j aus Great tent I didn't get to do a full test on this tent because my opening day got snowed out but I'm impressed with the tracking poles and can't wait to full test the tent soon
Rated 4 von 5 von Murray aus First Impressions I have just received my Distance tent with Z poles. The tent is very well constructed with zippers that are easy to operate and well protected by a generous flap on the outside. The half door inside screen I expect will be a big advantage in hot weather for ventilation and to keep the bugs out. Pitching the tent was very easy. The spreader pole is robust and inserts into the Z poles easily. The end with the low vent has sewn in supports on each side to keep the foot box raised. The upper vent also has a sewn in pole to keep it open. I wish this was removable so the vent could be closed if needed or just a small support like used on other tent vents. The weight of the tent with the supplied stakes (6 DAC V stakes), spreader pole, supplied guy lines (2) in the supplied stuff sack came in at 811 grams (1lb12.6oz). The weight with just the tent 4 stakes and the spreader pole was 753 grams which is the minimum trail weight to be able to pitch the tent. The tent alone is 651 grams. You can save about 12 grams by using mini groundhog stakes. The tent fits easily into the suppled stuff sac which is 5x12" as advertised. I have not tried to compress to the size of a Nalgene bottle. The tent will fit two Neoair 66" long pads side by side with space at both ends. It has plenty of headroom for me. I am on the short side at 5,4" but I am sure it will still have adequate headroom for taller people. My one concern was the Z poles length. I have been using the shorter 95 - 110 Z poles. The Distance poles supplied are just short enough at their shortest length for me to use. It will take some adjustment to get used to having my poles a little longer. This may be a concern for those shorter than me or very much taller. I am looking forward to getting it out this coming weekend to give the tent a true field test.
