Produktbeschreibung

WASATCH CLASSICS: SKIING THE WHIPPLE WITH NOAH HOWELL

Versatile and light enough This ski rips! It came in about 100g heavier than advertised but considering how it skis that's the least of my worries. I've taken it out on baby powder days (under 5") and spring corn days. It does great in both, predictable, stable and tips stay above the pow. Just this last weekend, the first two laps were wet powder, next two laps were corn/mush. It did great with all of it and was predictable on the hard layer under the 2" of freshly fallen snow. I mounted it tele (because your mom cares) and with the Lynx binding it's a nice light combo.I know they say it is not recommended for telemark bindings but it does have a metal mounting plate and all 6 of my 22 designs holes hit metal. I still used binding freedom inserts to beef up the mount. It could be lighter but the ski+binding at around 1900g seems light enough for big days and heavy enough for stability in variable retain. I'm on a TX Pro lower w/ an old F1 Race upper so the telemark frankenboot equivalent of a Maestrale. It'd be nice if they had a tip loop for skins. If I don't remember to put the tip of my skins on extra tight, the tip loop rattles on the carbon. A white top sheet for shedding snow would be great too but it looks like that's coming for 2021! I mounted them at boot center and am 6ft 1in 190lbs and ride the 179, fit and mount is great! If it's nuking out and/or I'm going to be hucking my meat, I'll take the Boundary Pro 107, otherwise, these are my go to backcountry sticks for Colorado.

Rated 5 von 5 von aus Great Ski - Defies it's Weight Purchased the 167cm Helio 88 with Atomic Backlands (no brake) and Scarpa F1 as my lightweight rig and I was worried it wouldn’t hold an edge. My first real test was actually at Snowbasin when I mistakenly grabbed the wrong boots but luckily had the skis in the truck. On groomed, hard-packed, man-made snow the skis were exceptional. Holds a a rock-solid edge at high speed and it’s very quick edge to edge. BC skiing it is very light so it hiked without effort (relatively compared to my long fat skis (BD Justices, 187cm, 105, with Dynafit Verticals with brakes). I was now worried it would suck in soft, deep snow. While not as good as the justices, given their weight and ease when skinning, they ski soft powder with surprising float and rebound. I’ll now retire the Justices in order to double my vertical. After years of pushing heavy rigs I’ve finally to go light and I’ll double my skiing. When 90% of your time is burned while ascending, do it as efficiently as possible and you’ll ultimately get much more downhill time. The Helio 88’s do just that.
