Description

Description

Our ultra-thin, well balanced USB-rechargeable headlamp that also runs on standard AAA batteries, the 275-lumen Black Diamond Sprinter 275 is purpose-built for longer distance pre-dawn/post-sunset runs that require the reassurance of longer battery life. The light’s updated optical efficiency provides a balanced beam with brighter light, and you can easily track battery life with a six-setting, three-LED batter meter. The Brightness Memory feature allows you to turn the light on and off at a chosen brightness without reverting back to a default setting, and the Sprint275’s PowerTap Technology makes for instant brightness adjustment settings. The light’s perforated elastic headband is designed for improved breathability while running, excellent front/back balance and a red taillight strobe in the rear adds visibility in urban areas but can be turned off when you’re on the trails. Now running on our new modular BD 1800 rechargeable battery, the Sprinter 275 is modular, accepting either the rechargeable battery or standard AAA alkalines. In addition, a stormproof design keeps the Sprinter 275 going strong in any weather with regulation for constant illumination throughout the battery life.

Headlamp Comparison

Headlamp Comparison Chart

Sprinter 275 Headlamp is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good running and walking ing headlamp I have three Black Diamond Sprinter lamps: 130 lumens (max. setting) purchased in 2015. 200 lumens (max setting) purchased in 2017 Black Diamond Sprinter 275 Headlamp 275 lumens purchased in 2020. The first lamp’s battery is gradually failing to hold its charge, so I purchased the 275 as a replacement. I find that the 275 is not as bright as either of the earlier lamps. In fact, the lowest setting is nearly useless for illumination, and I must set it on the highest setting to see adequately for any distance. My assumption is that the newer lamp with 275 lumens is defective somehow, or a redesign of the lamp reduces the effective illumination power. Thus, I use the older lamps when I need reliable and very bright illumination. Too bad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One headlamp quiver This headlamp is terrific. It is super versatile and very lightweight for the illumination that you get. This headlamp is very bright but also has less bright options that greatly stretch the battery life. It is well weighted with a rear battery pack for slow and fast movement in the backcountry. The ability to use rechargeable or disposable batteries is clutch for multi-day outings where charging might be difficult. This headlamp will replace all of my other headlamps.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from nice lite weight headlamp Only issue I had was top strap wouldn't stay attached and then broke off. Still a great light and works fine for hiking without that strap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My all-around headlamp This thing is exactly what I want in an all-around headlamp. The rear battery pack gives it a nice balance for running, skiing, or climbing. It's compact enough to bring along when you think you might need something, and it's bright enough to ski in a pinch. I really like the power tap option for quick route-finding checks, and I even found the main button to be OK to use with gloves on. Which, to be honest, really surprised me.
